All Star Directories (ASD) Prefilter is an online platform that helps individuals advance their careers and improve their lives through education.
Our system is designed to empower users by providing them with relevant information and resources related to education and careers in various fields, such as healthcare, business, technology, criminal justice, culinary arts, and more.
In this company, I am responsible for 7+ portal websites such as All Nursing Schools, All Allied Health Schools, All Crime Justice Schools, All Business Schools, Nature Healers, All Psychology Schools, and programs Listing Page that composed the core product, receiving over 1 million views. I took on the challenge of overhauling multiple websites to enhance their visual appeal, navigation, and user experience.

Challenges
Two Sr. Designers left just before I joined leaving an Associate Designer and me to figure all these out. Some of the projects were completely new, there were no end-users to talk to or data to use as a baseline. Executives were left to speculate about functionality and relied heavily on our usability tests.

My Responsibilities
In my previous role, I took on the challenge of overhauling multiple websites to enhance their visual appeal, navigation, and user experience. This included revamping sites such as All Crime Justice Schools, All Business Schools, Nature Healers, All Allied Health Schools, All Psychology Schools, and more.
As the sole designer on the product team since 2021, I am responsible for designing all aspects of the product system, including the main landing page and listing information. My responsibilities can be categorized into a few aspects:
Design style guides for some ASD websites
UX Research
I run use case workshops and keep a document of customer requests to help prioritize and unfold feature development.

I also perform competitive analysis to check with industry conventions. I work with our delivery and data analytics team to gain domain knowledge of the industry and use the insight to guide optimizing product features.

Product Design
With these insights, I brainstorm and always wireframe multiple ideas so the team can critique and get inspired to move the concepts forward.
As mentioned above, I am responsible for the design of the whole platform, updating major web pages, prototyping, and supporting product systems.

Usability Testing
To enhance the product's overall usability, I do mostly direct qualitative tests. After the test, I analyze and document user feedback to help iterate the design.
QA
I work with software engineers and conduct QA tests prior to release to ensure development is per design.
I also perform front-end QA tests by inspecting scripts and websites to guarantee their functionality and quality.

Retrospective
I have had a fulfilling experience working on various projects in ASD, the atmosphere was fantastic, and I felt supported and valued as a team member.
I also enjoyed working with cross-functional teams, which enhanced my understanding of the business and allowed me to align my designs with company goals.
