DESIGN IDEAS
HARVE FUN is designed to find people’s sense of belonging to the land. Make it easier for us to get back from the hustle and bustle of the city to the countryside, relieve the pressure of the city, and help local farmers.
APP is a kind of light application, the main characteristics are convenience, fastness, and small capacity. Users can share a piece of land with others, and then grow crops together. They can also come to loosen the soil and water from time to time or enjoy on the day of harvest. If there is no time, the farm will also have a dedicated person to take care of it and deliver it home when it matures
Story behinds
HarveFun was originally designed for 101 farmland of the Tongzhou district in Beijing. There is an old saying in China, “Do it yourself, and make ample food and clothing.” Now the city is ablaze with lights and heavy traffic, and the air is noisy. Tall buildings spring up in unison. The crowd bustled and bustled. We cannot hold our own fruit, as the fragrance of nature is farther away.
This is a story about happiness and harvest, HARVEST is the meaning of the harvest, “HaveFun” is playing happily. Their combination is HARVEST FUN, which is to find happiness in the harvest.
As for the Chinese name, “Feng” is the meaning of harvest in Chinese, and “Fan” is the transliteration of fun. Finally, the name of the farm is HarveFun.

7. What I've Learnt
Educate Clients & Advocate for Human-Centered Design
Clients have a vision. But they don't always have the UX knowledge to understand users. Sometimes their requirements conflict with users' needs. Sometimes they request add new functions without evaluation. It's our designers' roles to help them empathize with users and bridge their vision with users' needs, and get on-board with a holistic design solution.
Agile Design Process & Early Testing
While research is critical, sometimes we spent too much time and over-analyzed. The waterfall workflow made it time-consuming when we found a problem in a later stage. The design process should also be agile to adapt to the ever-changing situation. I also learnt that usability testing should happen along the process, not until the end, in order to get feedback and make adjustment early and flexibly.
