PROJECT SUMMARY
Whisper epitomizes my commitment to crafting exceptional design solutions as part of my freelance journey. It reflects my evolution from an in-house designer to taking on impactful projects within an agency setting.
Each pixel of Whisper was a labor of love, and the enthusiastic response from clients reaffirms my dedication to pursuing a career in UX design within this new landscape.
I hope you find Whisper as inspiring as it was for me to bring it to life.
Story behinds
Once in Japan, I took a paper cup of coffee on the subway. Many people on the subway stared at me. Later I learned that the Japanese custom is that it’s better not to eat or drink on the subway, especially beverages because it has a smell and is easy to spill during driving. The other reason is that there are no public trash cans in Japan except for convenience stores. Even if I finished my drink on the subway, I had to walk for a long time with a paper cup to throw it away, which was very inconvenient. So even if the locals buy hot drinks in paper cups, they will drink them in the store or nearby and then throw them away before leaving.
That was the time I felt like a “tourist” the most, and I felt very stupid. But this kind of “trivial matter” will not be told by a “Japanese travel guide” or “local guide”, so I didn’t understand until I returned home to research.
Project Summary
What we need to do is: build the scene + provide medium-build relationships efficiently
We spend more time on finding the solution rather than understanding the problem. In my personal opinion identifying the problem needs a lot of effort, the solution is just common sense.
Whisper's solutions involve creating both direct and indirect communication scenarios between individuals, utilizing various forms of media such as graphics, audio, video, live broadcasting, and games to enhance communication. The platform also emphasizes the importance of strengthening relationship chains through group dynamics and instant messaging. Additionally, Whisper plans to monetize through various means such as live broadcasting, value-added services, memberships, advertising, and games.
The design process was challenging, but the team overcame many obstacles to produce the final product. However, creating an excellent user experience involves refining various aspects beyond just the product itself.
The world we live in is complex, and there are no clear-cut answers or causal relationships. Many variables exist, and while technology and tools continue to evolve, human nature remains constant. These are the main points addressed in this article, and any feedback or suggestions are welcome.
